What did we do?
It is our first unit in art, we are focusing and studying different art aspects such as shading, tone and creative techniques.
But before we start any of those we began a pre-sheet to give a simple understanding of ourart abilities to our teacher and to show ourselves what level we are in at the time to see what we can do to inhance or improve in our drawings/paintings next time. After the sheet we began to draw some sketches and learn some new techniques taught by our teacher so we can use them in our assesments such as shading and a drawing of a ball on a table and showing the light and colors well.
When our teacher saw our work and thought we were ready he gave us our first assesment of the year, it was simply to draw an egg on a piece of crumpled paper and show the lighting and shade. After we were done with the egg drawing our teacher gave us our grade and comments to help us improve for the next summative which was similar to the egg drawing but just with our hand holding an object that represents us or something in our life; so i chose a tennis ball because it is a sport that i play and like very much. Now that we have shown our work and shown that we know how to use the materials and techniques we are ready for a more advanced drawing. The drawing of a 3D ball on a table on a black sheet of paper and a lino cut out and ink print.
First we got white paint and black sheet of A3 paper after that painting we moved on to making the Lino/linoleom print making where we use the technique of cutting that lino with new cutting materials that we had to be very careful with then after the cut out of the ball on the lino we had to roll black paint over it, put a sheet of white paper on it and put it in the rolling machine to make sure all the paint is on the paper.
How We did it?
We used various new art techniques during this projects that taught us many things to do in any upcoming projects that are similar to this.
For the egg on paper we first got a plastic sheet of A4 paper and drew a grid of 4 squares, placed the egg and paper infront of us and drew and outlined them then we did the same on the actual drawing paper but we used small amount of graphite and smudjed it around the paper. We used shade and tone to emphasize this piece and make it more realistic, and did the exact same for the hand drawing.
As for the lino print and painting we first got a decent amount of white paint and an A3 black sheet of paper. We outlied the ball and shadow with a pencil and painted white around it and showed where light is on the ball with the paint. For the lino print we got a small sized piece of linoleom then used 3-4 cutting materials because there are different sizes, after that we rolled balck paint on a piece of ceramic with a roller and rolled it over the lino till everything was covered; we then took the piece of white paper and placed the lino on top of it then put it on the rolling maching on the paper face covered it with the "blanket" and rolled it over to get everything on the paper.
Why We did it?
We did all of these things to show our understanding of different art techniques that we can later use. It also shows us how we can express ourselves in many different ways because we used the grid and graphite for the egg and hand, then the paint and cut outs for the ball and lino and cutting materials which honestly i have never seen or used before so it was something new for me.

WWW (what went well?):
I think i did really well with my hand drawing because i used a good amount of graphite and surrounded the page with it. The hand looked 3 dimentional and nicley drawn and i was very proud of it. I also think i used tone and shade nicley for it. i think the background of the lino cut out was presented well too.
EBI (even better if):
I think my egg on paper drwaing could of been better if i used tone and shade more to show the crumpled paper and 3D egg and that would of helped to see the shadows and light areas clearly. I also think my lino could of been better if the lines in the ball pointed nicley towards the light because then it would be clear where the light is and how 3D it is.
