"What A Relief" the name of our unit. It is not a very common name when it comes to school and not very easy to understand that we have it in art, but when we started learning about many craetive and different stuff in this class from the pre-instruction paper to the final summative of our print making.

To Start the unit we started the pre-instruction sheet which was the first step we took in this unit to see what level in art we are in and show our teacher how our calss can develop in the upcoming tasks. After that our teacher started teaching us about tone, shading and mking drawings 3 dimentional. After a couple tasks about shading and tone we learned about print making which was totally a new thing for us and told us what we were going to do for our final summative.

All those activities and tasks we have done before taught us what to do for our final print because we kept developing our skills and taught us how to draw and use lino.

To start off our final summative we gt a sheet to chose what we are going to draw and print. The sheet had 3 choices, The first was to pick our own drawing and draw it with the approval of our teacher, the second was a black and white print of something that represents us and the third was the same but with color. I chose the first one because i felt like i have more choices like that and much more to express. The second step was printing the picture so my teacher printed it in black and white to see the dark and light areas. To make it even easier we spread graphite in the back of the picture and started tracing out the picture outlined on the lino with perncil so we can erase anything wrong. The picture i chose was of me on a boat trip with mountains behind me and the sunset. I think this picture expresses me because i love the beach and the water, it also describes the natire of the country here and the sunset because its so beautiful and i always take pictures of it. after tracing the picture we started cutting out the pieces of lino to mach our picture. Our shading and tone skills had to be used here to shoe the dark and light parts but it was a bit challenging since it was only balck and white. When i was happy enough with my cut out i made the print with the black paint and it was done.

WWW:

I think what i did pretty well was the mountain outline and my portrait. Because i felt like the details were pretty much there and and it was really clear for example the scarf had a good detail to it because i showed the folds and where it was lying on my shoulder. The mountains where good because i showed the height, the curves and the shape.

EBI:

What i could of done better is the sea waves because in the drawing it looked better but after the cut out it changed. i also think i could of made the sky more realistic or grey instead of pure white.

Print making:

The difference between my first portrait at the beggining of the year and this is massive because i was really bad and needed a lot of enhancments of shade, tone and portrait drawing but taking those steps improves my work a lot thanks to my teacher. The tasks we've made also taught us how to express realism, 3D art other than my first drawing which was 2D and not raelistic at all. At the beggening of the year i didnt have any knowledge of all those things like shading and tone but now i have gained so much knowledge. This has taught me that everything doesnt come from the first try we have to keep moving and improving. talent isnt very easy and doesnt appear in a second it needs much effort than you ever think.

What amazed me even more is the amazing world of print making. When we cut out the image then print it it is a reverse image of what we actually made. so when we are presenting the work it is a mirror image of reality which is very cool, unique and creative about this. I'm very proud of what we have done so far and all the knowledge we have gained. this has taught us so much that we can use in the future and maybe i will use even more since i want to become and interior designer and have good knowledge of color, tone and structure.
